DAY14 -  Power of Christ love -

Christ's love changed one group of people for 200 years of peace!

  4th nephi - CHAPTER 1

The Nephites and the Lamanites are all converted to the Church of Christ—They have all things in common, work miracles, and prosper in the land—After two centuries divisions, evils, false churches, and persecutions arise—After three hundred years both the Nephites and the Lamanites are wicked—Ammaron hides up the sacred records. Between A.D. 36 and 321

1 And it came to pass that the thirty and fourth year passed away, and also the thirty and fifth, and behold the disciples of Jesus had formed a church of Christ in all the lands round about. And as many as did come unto them, and did truly repent of their sins, were baptized in the name of Jesus; and they did also receive the Holy Ghost.
2 And it came to pass in the thirty and sixth year, the people were all converted unto the Lord, upon all the face of the land, both Nephites and Lamanites, and there were no contentions and disputations among them, and every man did deal justly one with another.
3 And they had all things common among them; therefore there were not rich and poor, bond and free, but they were all made free, and partakers of the heavenly gift.
4 And it came to pass that the thirty and seventh year passed away also, and there still continued to be peace in the land.
5 And there were great and marvelous works wrought by the disciples of Jesus, insomuch that they did heal the sick, and raise the dead, and cause the lame to walk, and the blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear; and all manner of miracles did they work among the children of men; and in nothing did they work miracles save it were in the name of Jesus.
6 And thus did the thirty and eighth year pass away, and also the thirty and ninth, and forty and first, and the forty and second, yea, even until forty and nine years had passed away, and also the fifty and first, and the fifty and second; yea, and even until fifty and nine years had passed away.
7 And the Lord did prosper them exceedingly in the land; yea, insomuch that they did build cities again where there had been cities burned.
8 Yea, even that great city Zarahemla did they cause to be built again.
9 But there were many cities which had been sunk, and waters came up in the stead thereof; therefore these cities could not be renewed.
10 And now, behold, it came to pass that the people of Nephi did wax strong, and did multiply exceedingly fast, and became an exceedingly fair and delightsome people.
11 And they were married, and given in marriage, and were blessed according to the multitude of the promises which the Lord had made unto them.
12 And they did not walk any more after the performances and ordinances of the law of Moses; but they did walk after the commandments which they had received from their Lord and their God, continuing in fasting and prayer, and in meeting together oft both to pray and to hear the word of the Lord.
13 And it came to pass that there was no contention among all the people, in all the land; but there were mighty miracles wrought among the disciples of Jesus.
14 And it came to pass that the *seventy and first year passed away, and also the seventy and second year, yea, and in fine, till the seventy and ninth year had passed away; yea, even an hundred years had passed away, and the disciples of Jesus, whom he had chosen, had all gone to the paradise of God, save it were the three who should tarry; and there were other disciples ordained in their stead; and also many of that generation had passed away.
15 And it came to pass that there was no contention in the land, because of the love of God which did dwell in the hearts of the people.
16 And there were no envyings, nor strifes, nor tumults, nor whoredoms, nor lyings, nor murders, nor any manner of lasciviousness; and surely there could not be a happier people among all the people who had been created by the hand of God.

17 There were no robbers, nor murderers, neither were there Lamanites, nor any manner of -ites; but they were in one, the children of Christ, and heirs to the kingdom of God.
18 And how blessed were they! For the Lord did bless them in all their doings; yea, even they were blessed and prospered until an *hundred and ten years had passed away; and the first generation from Christ had passed away, and there was no contention in all the land.
19 And it came to pass that Nephi, he that kept this last record, (and he kept it upon the plates of Nephi) died, and his son Amos kept it in his stead; and he kept it upon the plates of Nephi also.
20 And he kept it eighty and four years, and there was still peace in the land, save it were a small part of the people who had revolted from the church and taken upon them the name of Lamanites; therefore there began to be Lamanites again in the land.
21 And it came to pass that Amos died also, (and it was an hundred and ninety and four years from the coming of Christ) and his son Amos kept the record in his stead; and he also kept it upon the plates of Nephi; and it was also written in the book of Nephi, which is this book.
22 And it came to pass that *two hundred years had passed away; and the second generation had all passed away save it were a few.

WHEN YOU REALLY LOVE WHAT YOU DO - IT IS NOT WORK!

No one who really finds a work of love, tires of doing it - every time they do the work - their gift, HELPS others - this is shown, in the love that they do -

Christ said it best - "Love one another as I have loved you!" -

If we could really learn how to do that - the whole world would be changed for the better - in every way you can think of - enviromentally, educationally, employment, corporations, government - every thing would change for the better - and this - CHRIST LIKE LOVE - would also bring out the best in us!

QUOTE:

"When our eyes see our hands doing the work of our hearts, the circle of Creation is completed inside us, the doors of our souls fly open and love steps forth to heal everything in sight."
-Michael Bridge

QUESTION:

What does Higher Power have to do with my business activities and what can I do to pay back like Paul Newman and other great philanthropists do?

STORY:

The Day in the Life of an Entrepreneur - Enlightened or Not

The alarm rings its 6:00AM blaring ringggggg. You want more sleep! In fact, you ache for more sleep, but you cannot afford the luxury. A quick shower and coffee while getting dressed. A moment at the computer to check emails before you leave. The news blasts bad stuff from the kitchen radio. You throw the kids kisses as they catch the bus for school. "Yes, soccer. I promise I will watch the game," you say to your youngest. The times and dates are entered into your computer.

You finish an email and rush out the door. Starbucks calls as you round the corner and face a long line of stopped cars at the traffic light. Café Latte and a scone. The radio blasts absurdities. More traffic.

"Well, I will just have to call that meeting later in the day," you snarl at your secretary as she reminds you that you are late. She reports the change to the gang having coffee in the conference room. They pack up and go back to their desk with audible grumbles as they pass your office.

Back to the computer, the phone, a long awaited vendor with the wrong stuff. A luncheon at noon, you are late leaving again, the traffic is unbelievable. No parking, no parking, no parking anywhere. You have missed the lunch portion of the meeting. You’ll catch a bite on the way back to the office. The meeting is blah, blah, blah and does not solve one of your problems.

You skip lunch and eat candy and coffee at your desk. The afternoon is filled with meetings, phone messages and never ending email. You call your staff meeting to order only 15 minutes before you have to leave to pick up your little soccer player. You excuse yourself from the meeting and assure them that you will be gone only for a few minutes.

You count ten untouched folders in front of you. You grab one of them as you head out to pick up your youngest. "Yes, I know I promised to watch . . . but I have this conference . . . I will be back to pick you up." You leave with a heavy guilt trip on your back.

Another hour and a half flies by in the office. You arrive at the soccer field. It has started to rain. The coach has wrapped a plastic bag around your little one’s frame. What a forlorn picture. The coach says, "I have kids to get home to also." Guilt builds.

"Next time, I promise." Your voice is drowned out by the radio. The child turns and looks out the window.

Dinner is picked up at the shortest drive-through line you can find.

The family sits in front of the TV as they eat. No one exchanges words. Wrapping papers are stuffed in the bag, and the dog tries to grab it as it goes into the trash. The children vanish to their rooms. Homework you are supposing - or hoping.

Within seconds, the phone rings - more business! The calls continue and the then computer and finally that folder is opened. Midnight, 1 AM, 2AM. Where did the day go? You say to yourself "My every thought was focused on rushing to get to the next task."

You tumble into bed, get out and go check on the children. You forgot you even had them. What were they doing in their rooms? More guilt. You get back into bed, close your eyes, and the room seems to whirl around. You’re tired. You sleep for a few hour.

The Alarm rings. Another DAY. . . .

It should not be that way.

What could change it? Let’s replay that day.

5 A.M. you awaken. A new day! Your thoughts flood with happiness for the day. "Today is the day the Lord hath made. Be glad ... rejoice ...."

You get out of bed and kneel beside it with a grateful heart that you have this day to express the Almighty. You ask for guidance to govern your day as He would have you govern it. You listen. The stillness of the morning is interrupted by soft music from your alarm clock You rise, go to your spiritual reading desk and take your books for study. "Teach me thy ways oh Lord. Teach me thy ways." You read with an open heart the message Higher Power has for you. You pray and talk with your Heavenly Father/Mother/God.

A song of peace, joy and fulfillment sings in your being. You shower, dress and go downstairs for breakfast. You sit down with the children, give thanks for your food and the day and talk with the children about their day. Yes, you promise your youngest that you will watch the soccer game. You hug and kiss each child and tell each that you love each one. Even your teens.

They leave for school. You leave for work. There is a terrific traffic jam. You use the down time on your cell. You are late for work, but you call one of your employees and have her start the meeting with a silent prayer which you too say. You arrive in time to announce a new award system, not based on individual money goals, but on service to one another. Teamwork is all important to the company. There are ten folders at your place. You open each and delegate tasks to your employees. You let them know exactly what has to be done, the time line, and the reward.

You discuss the employee residual income system and its residual philanthropy model, which you are establishing for the support and benefit of the employees and the community.

To avoid parking problems, a car is called to take you to your lunch meeting. You dine next to a perfect contact for a very important project your company is working on. The rest of the day, you turn to Heavenly Father for guidance and thanks. You thank each employee for the good job they are doing as you leave to pick up your little soccer player.

You keep your promise and watch the game. One of the parents mention a company that could supply your company with the exact information you had been searching for before you left the office for the game. That brief conversation with a soccer dad saved you at least a couple hours of research. Strange how the Higher Power puts things together. Your child is delighted to see you at the game.

You go home and dinner is waiting as you have a dinner delivery service which provides delicious nutritious meals on call. You sit with your family and bow your heads in prayer and thanksgiving. Lively conversation about the day’s activities occurs at the dining table. You check on homework. Answer emails to friends and family. You read with your children and retire at a decent hour. What a difference a prayer makes!
